Name: Prasanna
Where are you from? What’s great about it?
I’ve been in Chennai my whole life. I like that there are a lot of different cultures mixed together here. There are a lot of people from the southern part of our state, as well as people from around the country. I love the beaches and the music season that happens around December.
How did you start at Orangescape?
I began my career as a developer. I really liked working with testing and quality assurance. I was looking for a new job in 2004 and saw a listing for Performance Tuning at this small startup called Orangescape. I had never seen any company offer this kind of a role before, I was sold the moment I saw the job title. I came in for what ended up being an all-day interview and left that evening with an offer.
Favorite memory from the past?
One day, our CEO, Suresh, told me he wanted to create a leadership team and wanted me to be on it. The only problem was that I was doing release management at the time and he needed someone on the team to be a business lead. So I took it up. I’ve always liked that part of Orangescape. The culture is exciting and there aren’t many rules to restrict people; there are always chances for new opportunities. Since I started, I’ve had about seven different roles in the company.
What is your signature work with KiSSFLOW?
Throughout my time here, I’ve built and grown new teams that were important for the success of KiSSFLOW. I started out with a team of product specialists, then built a consulting team, and now I’m leading a team that creates the pre-built applications you see in KiSSFLOW 2.0. I love building the right team for the right job.
What are you reading right now?

Who is someone you admire a lot?
I like our Indian cricket captain, MS Dhoni. He handles every crisis with a very calm temperament. He puts the interest of the team first, but is willing to take risks. When the team does well, he doesn’t take the credit, but promotes the team instead.
What is something very few people know about you?
I used to paint a lot, and I also used to write Tamil poetry. I like to read Tamil novels too.
